Words of Praise
Training comes in all shapes and sizes.  Some times it looks like just a bunch of fun activities and other times it looks like lots of work.  This past October 2 and 3 several of the boys and men traveled to Lexington Kentucky Church of God Campground for a weekend of bonding and fun.   The following is an article that was written by George  Davidson, Children's Pastor at Park Praise Center.

We took 8 boys, Jacob, Payton, Eaven, Nate, Blake, Dalton, Chris and Brandon to the annual Pioneers for Christ Campout. Fun was had by everyone; even the big boys (George, Brandon, Bill, Roger, Danny, Ray and Dwayne) enjoyed all the activities that were available to them.

We arrived at the campground and it took several hours to set up camp.  Bill cooked dinner for us and we ate by the campfire.  That evening all the campers gathered together  for a time of worship, led by Brian Yaun, State Youth and Christian Education Director.  The boys were quiet at first, then as the praise went up and the presence of God came down and true worship came from within each heart of those young boys and men.  Several old and tattered flags were burned the proper way and we all returned to our individual camps to roast hotdogs and marshmallows around the campfire, then it was time for rest and we all went to sleep.

We started the next morning with a good breakfast and a color guard marched in carrying the representive flags.  Then it was off to the games!  Games included an obstacle course, fishing pole casting, archery, air rifle shooting, pinewood derby race, tug of war, and a bus push.

Awards were received by Evan for archery, Blake for fishing pole casting, Nate for air rifle shooting, Chris for the obstacle course, Dalton for archery and the group came in 3rd place for the bus push.

A great time was had by all those who attended and it is a time that will not be forgotten any time soon!
